The way that this short film used pixilation helped exaggerate the characters' emotions as well as the conflict between them. In turn, this method can emphasize the creators views on war, the central theme of the film. By using pixilation, the filmmakers are able to exaggerate the characters' movements and create a sense of "magic," or something that would be impossible in the real world, in a way similar to that of animated cartoons. In essence, the stop-motion animation used in this short film is more like traditional animation rather than standard video.
