  •  Time to Build: 30 minutes to an hour

  • Time to Animate: About 2 hours

  • Problems encountered: I had trouble with my camera set up multiple times. First, the camera stand could not be attached to my desk because its edges are too shallow. Then, halfway through shooting the animation, my remote shutter that I had been using stopped working and I did not notice until I was "finished." I ended up having to go back at about the halfway mark, deleting any photos taken after as they involved a lot of movement and I could not easily recreate the scenes, and redid the entire second half of the animation.

  • Aha moment: Aside from the troubles I had when animating, I found a few tricks I could use when editing. First, there were some segments where the movements were too fast because of the lack of frames. Because I was working with a stop-motion app on my phone, I could easily go into those segments and copy a few of the frames to bulk them up and slow the motion slightly. I was also able to crop and edit the animation so that the jump was less noticeable.

  • If I animated this again I would: Work on adding more in-between frames to make some of the segments flow better and match the rest of the animation.
